Launch Your Career Through Real-World AI Internships

SAIL Velocity matches driven students with real projects at startups, research labs, and nonprofits pushing the boundaries of AI.

What is SAIL Velocity?

SAIL Velocity is the flagship internship program of the Society for AI Literacy. We connect students with hands-on, high-impact opportunities at startups, nonprofits, and research labs working at the frontier of AI and technology. Interns build real solutions while receiving mentorship, support, and professional development.

Why SAIL Velocity?

Mentorship-Driven

You’ll receive mentorship and training from both the SAIL team, and partner companies or startup founders. These aren’t just advisors; they’re people invested in your growth.

Build Your Portfolio

Every participant leaves with tangible outputs—projects, dashboards, papers, or software—that showcase applied experience and strengthen applications for jobs, graduate school, or medical school.

Not Just LearningDoing

As a Velocity student, you’ll tackle projects with real-world impact. Whether supporting a healthcare startup, building AI tools for underserved communities, or contributing to pro bono work, you’ll put your skills to meaningful use.

Flexible and Inclusive

We welcome students from all academic backgrounds—not just computer science. Whether you study biology, psychology, engineering, design, or any other field, there's a place for you here.
